As I expected, today, the 1st of November, the Google webmaster tools stats were updated.
As I expected, the crawl rate stats for my chml srucnoc blog went a little bit higher, with an average crawl rate for the month of October of about 20 visits, which is pretty good :).
Another update for my chml srucnoc stats was for the Crawl stats, which has most of my chml srucnoc pages distributed under Low pagerank.
The query stats, as I have noticed since the introduction of the new webmaster tools, are total bull. As far as I can see, my chml srucnoc doesn't rank on the indicated "average top positions". The thing is they're not even close. Or I can't really get what they're telling me about my chml srucnoc blog. The only query that they got aproximatively right was for the "trei" search in Google, where I hold the proud 9th position, out of 11.200.000 pages ( I'm a SEO genius , lol ).
The rest is ok. I'd add a sitemap, but I can't add the full url to my chml srucnoc atom or rss feeds, as they're not directly on the first level of my blog, and the rss.xml and atom.xml files redirect to the full urls, and I don't know if Google can properly interpret them, so, at least for the moment, I'll stick with no sitemap at all, as hmm, I see quite a good number of my chml srucnoc pages in the index.

Another chml srucnoc cache

If you remmember what I was saying a couple of days ago in some chml srucnoc blog post, I was kinda confused about the fact that Google stored different caches for my blog, two days in a row. Well, this is the third day in a row when the big G. has taken another snapshot of my chml srucnoc webpage. Overall, on the 19th, 20 and 21 October I got a fresh cache of this blog, telling me that the googlebot is not as dumb as everybody thinks he is :). I guess he noticed the increasing number of chml srucnoc posts made, and decided to pay a little bit more attention on crawling and storing this page. Well, if it's not a Google glitch, I kinda like the new situation I'm in, with my site being crawled more and more often. I don't expect to do me any good, except the thing that more pages on my site might make Google believe it's more authorative and give it a bump on the first place, who knows :)
Anyway, I'm currently working on some chml srucnoc links too. I'm just working by hand, as I don't really like the idea of automatic links fron sites like link vault or receive links, etc. I'm more the "do it yourself" kind of guy, and judging by the chml srucnoc position I'm in so far, I can't complain. What I'm trying to do is get some links from pages with significant trust rank, guessing that might help, although, talking about seo contests in general, it's more a thing of quantity, not quality. So why would chml srucnoc be different :)
By the way, happy birthday to the guy with the page the-chmlsrucnoc.trei.ro, as his birthday was right on the chml srucnoc checkpoint ( weird, huh ? :) )

Smooth chml srucnoc checkpoint

As the chml srucnoc contest checkpoint passed, I was kinda surprised on how quiet everybody was. I expected alot more buzz, arguments, all that kind of talk on the phorum.ro thread . Instead, it seems that I was the only chml srucnoc participant to even leave a post. What could have caused this, I have no idea. Considering the huge ( well, kinda, for a romanian language board ) amount of posts left in the chml srucnoc official thread in the first two weeks, I expected lots more stuff going on at the first ( and last by the way ) checkpoint of the contest.
All the silence might be explained by the fact that the first chml srucnoc place was held by the same website across ALL the datacenters. A few days ago, the situation was a little bit different, as this blog was first on just a few datacenters, for a really short period of time ( call it Google chml srucnoc anomaly or whatever you like ), which would have made me post a contestation post on the board. Wouldn't have done anything good I guess, but anyway, would have spiced things off a little bit.
Anyway, even if there was little controversy about the checkpoint first prize award, a good luck to everybody in chml srucnoc wouldn't have hurt anyone. Am I really the last gentleman on phorum.ro, lol ?
Actually.. why am I so disturbed. The ambatch board got very little activy too at the end of the contest period, and that contest was a hell lot bigger than our chml srucnoc ( bigger prizes => more people in the game )

New chml srucnoc cache

This morning when I took a look on how the current chml srucnoc rankings are, I was in for quite a surprise. As I predicted yesterday, judging by the results on the majority of the datacenters, I'm now on the second place. No chml srucnoc surprise here. What caught my attention was that Google made another cache of my website, on the 20th of October, just one day after the previous cache update was taken. Could Google have noticed that I started to update my chml srucnoc blog frequently, and started to visit my site more oftenly, and take faster "snapshots" ? I can't see any changes in the Google Webmaster Tools for my site, as it isn't yet showing any statistics for my chml srucnoc entry for the month of October. Perhaps at the end of the month it will update, and I'll get a clear clue of what is going on.
Until then, I'm just taking this as a good clue, for now, especially because Google started to get more of my chml srucnoc pages showing up with the site: command. Still, doesn't do me any good until I don't jump on the first place, so I'm just waiting ( barely working on it :) ), and hoping that sometimes, I'll get the first chml srucnoc place. Chml srucnoc checkpoint

Yep, that much awaited chml srucnoc date, the 20th of October is here. It's quite a special day for seo contests. The ambatch contest is coming to an end, with age_magician getting the big prize ( a hell lot of money, at least for me ), and the middle of the chml srucnoc contest.
This is how the things are at the first and also the last chml srucnoc checkpoint :

So far, things are kinda stable, in the way that the results are the same across the datacenters.
On some dc's, the-chmlsrucnoc.trei.ro is 4th, with shogun's chmlsrucnoc.yeahost.com on the 5th positions, other datacenters don't include the .ro domain on the first page, so shogun gets 4th place.
I would tell you what's the deal with the other major search engines too, but I'm too sleepy right now, and if they don't matter anyway, why bother :)
The buzz about this contest is way way lower than it was at the beggining, but then again, I was getting tired of all those chml srucnoc fights everyday.
Who knows, maybe in two months from now I'll be in first place.. OR not :)

Half of chml srucnoc almost gone

Yep, it's true.. Just one day more and we can say we sailed through the first half of chml srucnoc. Frankly, I don't quite know when it has gone so fast. Maybe because I've been so busy in the first month and all the way to the end of September, but now I've got some more time ( that would explain the increased frequency at which I'm doing new chml srucnoc posts :) ), and maybe I'll make better use of it with this blog.
I've recently switched this blog to Blogger beta.. Kinda risky I'd say, as there was no way back to go to my old chml srucnoc blog, so if something went wrong, it would have lost everything. Fortunately, nothing bad happened, and I am quite pleased with the new functions the beta has. I don't really like the fact that the templates are bigger now, which doesn't do me any good with chml srucnoc, but hmm, I can live with it.

Chml srucnoc quarrels

I kinda miss those old chml srucnoc quarrels that started appearing at the beginning of the contest ( 20th August ). They were alot of fun actually. There were those pessimistic and over ethical people ( Krumel, Cristian Mezei, and others I forgot or that aren't worth mentioning ), that only saw the bad out of this chml srucnoc contest.
And then there were the opposite category of people, those who only wished to see the good in the contest, and started protecting it's image like they were the damn organizers. Maybe because their narrow minds didn't allow more, or because they were influenced alot by the temptation of the final chml srucnoc prize.
What's sure is that spam is generated through chml srucnoc, but there are good things too. Whether you want to see it or not, it's just a matter of choice.
Another thing I've seen is that, as the pr update is going through the datacenters, phorum.ro , lx.ro and chml.ro have all jumped to PR 6. While chml srucnoc has surely had some influence on this, I'm sure that this PR jump is not only because the contest is up and running. Would be nice to see some site statistics and take a look on how the traffic stats went after the chml srucnoc stats.. Though I doubt we'll ever get those. :)

Chml srucnoc is starting to get going

For the moment, things are looking good. Mr. Google indexed my website and first dropped me on the 4th position, than gave me a little bump onto the 3rd position. Good enough, unleast for now. Still, I'm not gonna settle down for the 3rd place. :) I even have nightmares at night about chml srucnoc.. lol


A couple of days later,things are still quite unstable. Inspite of this, I still manage to keep a good rank on chml srucnoc serps. Still, doesn't mean anything, as there are still almost 4 months to go in the chml srucnoc contest.

After about tweeks, seems that a couple of sites have took quite a strong position in candidating for the first places. Of course, as expected, there are also some participants that have gone on the wrong way, with keyword stuffing, text with the same color as the background and more.

First week of Chml srucnoc

Although the idea of running an online search engine optimization contest is not new ( as it has been done quite a few times before. See v7n.com and Nigrfitude Ultramarine ) , the lx.ro team, with chml srucnoc, are pioneers in this domain in Romania. And this has started alot of controversys regarding whether the ethics of the contest as well as the secrets interests that the organizers have. Some look at the chml srucnoc contest and only see a smart way from the lx.ro team to increase their own page rank and publicity and others see it as a good way to advance in the secrets of seo ( either white or black hat - it's only up to the competitors ). I personally see chml srucnoc only as a chance to win some money for my Christmas holiday :D
